With the application cycle opening in approximately 2 weeks, I think this would be a great time to open the thread for this year. Best of luck to everyone applying! Has anyone taken the PA-CAT? I am scheduled to take the exam in 2weeks...

Hello everyone! I didn't see a post for this year's cycle so I'm super excited to start it. I"m very nervous about applying. Last year I only applied to about 3 schools because I didn't take the GRE. My undergrad GPA is very low so I'm stepping out on faith here, but my science gpa, postbacc gpa, and graduate gpa are all at least 3.0. Here are my hours: (I tried to overcompensate to offset the low GPA) PCE: 8,000+ hrs as a Clinical research coordinator and PT aide Research: 1,720 hrs Extracurricular: 1,327 hrs Volunteer: 686 hrs (including Guatemala medical mission trip) Shadowing: 100 hrs (dermatology, oncology, hematology, orthopedi

Hello! Long story short, I am a senior at a university studying dietetics and have recently decided that I want to become a PA and not follow through with my current route to become a registered dietitian. With that being said, I have become overwhelmed and extremely stressed about making this switch possible before applying in the Fall of 2018! I will be taking an additional year ("fifth year") after I graduate in order to fulfill prerequisite classes required for the PA schools I want to apply to. On top of that, I now have to take my GRE, obtain 500-1000 healthcare experience hours, and fill out the rest of CASPA. My stats thus far: cGPA: 3.89 sG

Hi guys! I wanted to ask whether you think I have a good shot of being accepted into a PA program this cycle. I plan on applying to around 15 schools that either requires only 500 hours PCE or do not have a minimum amount of hours. I am only 20 years old! Also, could you please list schools that you have heard of that emphasize strong academics, and maybe more lenient towards lower PCE? I am hoping to have around 700 hours (both from CNA and home health aide) by the time of submission around last week of May 3.99 GPA (both science and regular) GRE is 307, 155- Quant, 152- Verbal I have a little over 100 shadowing hours with 3 PAs 2 letters of r
