quarterlengthsleeve
I will be starting my first job in Orthopaedics in a few weeks. I have been doing some of my own prep work these last couple of weeks, but do you have any suggestions of what should be sure to know before I start? I will be specializing in sports medicine. So far I have been reviewing anatomy, my Orthopaedic Surgery Pocketbook, some PANCE review book, and case studies.
Orthogurl
If you can look at some radiology stuff that would help too. Plain x ray, maybe some shoulder/knee MRI if it's a sports MD. Good luck, I love ortho!

sk732
Maybe refresh yourself on other aspects of medicine ;-D.
clballin
Getting familiar with X-rays is a huge part of it. If you haven’t been in surgery in awhile, practice suturing for sure. Refresh on ortho surg procedures, maybe look up the arthrex website for ideas in sports med procedures. As long as your attending surgeon doesn’t make your life miserable, you should be fine.
