17 months since my first post on this forum. That was when I did my final push to complete my pre-recs for PA school. 28 credits later while working 54 + hours a week while maintaining a schedule that kept me away from home over half my time (= no study time), I got an acceptance to my first choice program; today. To say I am happy, is to understate.

Undergrad Ed School: Faulkner University BBA 2002

Cumulative Undergrad. GPA: 3.45

Science Undergrad. GPA: 3.39

Graduate Ed School: N/A

Cumulative Graduate GPA: N/A

Science Graduate GPA: N/A

Age at application time : 40

1st GRE: V: 151 Q 147 VR 4.5 Not great, I know, but 1080 on the old scale.

2nd GRE: N/A

Direct Patient Care : 10 years military medic USAF, 10 years Independent Duty Medic USAF

Extracurricular/Research Activities: N/A

Schools Applied: 12 in total (I know, a lot). Major players: MEDEX, NOVA Jax and Orlando, Stanford, Emory, Wake, UNE......plus many more fine programs.

Application Submitted Date: 03 Oct 12

Schools Received Application Date: 13 Oct 12

Interview Invites: Nova Jax and Orlando

Denied: UNE

Withdrew Application: Not yet, but will most likely withdraw from any that haven't contacted me yet.

Waitlisted: None.

Accepted: NOVA Jacksonville....will be attending. For personal and financial reasons, I will definitely attend. I looked at the program as objectively as possible and I really liked it.....really. They stressed that they wanted a non-competitive environment and the goal is to help the students through. I am from this area and my immediate family lives in Jax....support network in place for me and my family. I always leaned towards MEDEX and Stanford as I thought I was a better fit....but this program ticks all the boxes. There are many reasons to pick a PA school and all considerations need to be looked at. NOVA JAX fits me. I think that is what is the most important.
