Yale Online 2023-2024 Cycle

Recommended Posts

Verified 7/10, rejected today 8/2. I'm guessing they may not be going in a linear fashion (assorted by dates). They probably have put people into piles - immediate rejects, further review, full consideration etc. I would assume if you applied prior to July and haven't heard back yet that could be good news!

Best of luck to you all! This was my first cycle and first rejection. 💔

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

If it helps I feel my weakness was in my coursework. I have a 4.0 in the prerequisites and a last 50 credit cGPA of 3.85 (cGPA and sGPA is 3.35) but I did fail gen chem I years ago (retook for an A) and was allowed to take biochemistry without finishing general chemistry II. Considering I was a psychology major/neuro minor they likely wanted to see more rigorous science coursework out of me, especially after that F. I don't really have any doubts it was my personal statement as I worked with an admission specialist on it, and was told from a PA it was one of the best she's ever read. I also have about 3,400 hours of PCE in various roles. I could be wrong, but I really think for me it came down to grades and needing to prove myself a bit more which is understandable. I plan on taking more courses, just didn't have enough time before applying this round! This also might be something the new program director is focusing on a little more (but again, just speculating)

Rejected yesterday afternoon. Disappointed and sad, but so in love with this program. Rock those interviews, everyone!

Sorry to hear about your rejection. Did you get the chance to interview with them? I am confident that you will get accepted to an amazing program, you have worked hard, and you are amazing. Don’t give up.

@Persistandsuceed Thank you so much for the kind words. I appreciate them. I interviewed last year but not this year. With the new director and the class size decreasing from 56 last year to 40 this year, it is even more difficult for ADCOM to pick from so many qualified candidates. I want this program to soar. I was lucky enough to be accepted to 2 programs in the last few weeks, one very close to my home, allowing me to stay close to my husband and kids.  I wish the best to everyone still applying and waiting to hear and those who have been accepted. I look forward to working with you all someday.
