Ernie
One of the prereqs for Nova is general biology. At my school, general bio was required as a prereq for A&P and micro, but I didn't feel like taking it, so I took the CLEP, was awarded credit for the class (BSC 1005), and registered for A&P. In April, when I first considered attending Nova, I contacted admissions and asked them if taking the course by CLEP would be an issue, and they said no. When I put in the application, they said that since my school only gave me credit for BSC 1005 they would not admit me. They claimed that BSC 1005 was an intro to biology course, and that I needed BSC 1010. I pointed out that this credit was awarded as the result of me passing the only biology test that the CLEP has, and that they had earlier told me it was fine. No dice. Rejected. duchesskre
Nova just started interviewing last week from what I understand. When did you get rejected and they told you that it was because of BSC 1005? That is concerning to me as I took BSC 1005 and didnt take a second general biology class. I interviewed there last week. I hope I dont get rejected due to not taking a second general bio class.......

I'm concerned that my lack of work experience will keep me from getting into most of those programs, and I've been told that they will hold my age against me somewhat. With that said, what do you think my chances are of getting into any of those? If anyone knows anything specific about what they emphasize for admissions it would be really helpful.
