Hello everyone! I thought I would start a thread for this cycle. Waiting for my transcripts to be received by caspa and then I plan on submitting.

I have a question I was verified and filled out the questionnaire after that on their amp homepage it said application complete but there is a red X next to application submitted is there an option to submit or do all I need to do is fill out the questionnaire? Thanks y’all!

That's weird. Mine has a green check and says that my application is ready (under notes). Did you do the residency form? if you did and it still has an X, I would call them and ask to make sure nothing is wrong.

I asked them if they could kindly give me an update on the status of my application and whether any other document is required.

Hey guys!

Does anyone know if UTSW accepts community college credit or courses taken online? I plan to ask the Admissions office but since it's the weekend I probably won't hear back until Monday. Was just wondering if anyone knew. 🙂 Thanks in advance!

They accept both, I went back and took a few classes online at a community college and confirmed they took them. They are very good at responding quickly to any questions as well!

Hello all,

So.. I submitted my UTSW CASPA Application in Mid May. I am unaware of the residency form being discussed, though. Was this emailed to you all, or is it made public?

Applied on 5/30, verified on 6/2

Residency Verification Form completed 6/2

GOOD LUCK!

Does anyone know if we get a confirmation after completing the residency questionnaire form? I completed it on 6/2 and realized I never got an email saying they received that completion.

I do not believe so. We all seem to have completed the residency questionnaire a month ago and never heard anything further. Just make sure there is a green check mark next to your application in the portal.

Hi All,

I was verified 7/10 and received the residency form the same day. Completed it, and am now waiting for next steps. Also, didn't receive confirmation that it was submitted.

Fingers crossed we start hearing back soon!

Hi all, new here! Thanks in advance for the help!
I'm under the impression that you aren't supposed to include experience that you received academic credit for in the experience section. If that is the case, why is there a "received academic credit" option to select for experiences?
From my previous healthcare degree, I did a number of internships and a residency program that I received academic credit for but on my transcript, it just says "internship hours" or "practicum hours" and provides no detail about the experience.
Can I list the details of the experiences (as they were electives and unique to me rather than my academic program) and check the "received academic credit" box?
For example, I elected to do an internship in a hospital in China and an integrative medicine residency program at a US hospital, I was credited "hours" from my graduate program, but there is no mention of the experiences on the transcripts. If I don't list them under experience, neither will be visible on my application. Do I just talk about them in my personal statement? What would you do in this situation?
In general, I feel like I could use some guidance navigating CASPA with my unusual background (I have a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) and am lacking access to an advisor . Any recommended resources?
      THANK YOU!!

CASPA failed to process my application before the deadline of October 1. They apparently had an issue processing the COVID—19 Transcript Delay Form. I checked in both through phone and email, and still, they failed to verify prior to the deadline. I submitted all material July.
has anyone else had this issue?

I am a PA student in my didactic year and I would like to help out pre-PA's in anyway I can.
I know the CASPA has long opened, but if you need advice for next application cycle, or would like me to look over your CASPA application I would be happy too. I am willing to look over your personal statement as well and give back some extensive feedback for a small fee. I am a full time student struggling with loans. I would be happy to review your personal statement for $25. I can get it back to you in 4 weeks or less. For CASPA reviews, I can do it for $10 or both for $30.
      Some stats about me:
Applied twice, first cycle I received 2 interviews, one waitlisted and one rejected.
Second cycle I received 3 interviews, 1 accepted and 2 waitlists.
      Science GPA: 3.2
      Overall GPA: 3.6
      PCE Hours: 2000+
I majored in Biology with a minor in Spanish.
      Thank you and good luck!

      Hello!
I recently applied to Texas PA schools in June but I am looking for more ways to gain more shadowing hours for the next application cycle in case I don't get in! How have y'all approached shadowing during COVID? I'm just not sure that PAs would let me shadow them because the COVID risks and social distancing and everything. What experiences have you all had? I am from Texas by the way! COVID precautions are getting pretty relaxed here.
I have an opportunity to shadow an orthopedic NP. Do you think that PA schools would see that as valuable?
Good luck to everyone applying this cycle! 🙂

Hey Guys, my name is Benjamin. I work in Neurosurgery. I’m a PA-C. I received over 25 interviews when I was applying to schools. If you are getting interviews but not acceptances I would love to help. Check out www.physicianassistantschooladvice.org it lays out some good ideas to help get you that edge.
      cheers,
      Benjamin
