Danita
Undergrad Ed School: University of Utah Major: Exercise Science: Exercise Physiology Cumulative Undergrad. GPA: 3.7 Science GPA: 3.6 Age at application time: 24 1st GRE: 1340 Direct Patient Care : 1600 EMT-B, 200 Abroad Research 1.5 years Rheumatology Research Univ. of Utah SOM 2 years Univ. of Utah Department of Preventative Medicine Shadowing ~60 hours: Family Practice, Work-Care, and Emergency Volunteering: 3 years Big Brothers Big Sisters 100 hours hospital ICU 200 hours medical volunteer in Peru Schools Applied: 8 Pacific Midwestern A.T. Still Idaho Touro Univ. Nevada Wake Forest Samuel Merritt UC Denver Application Submitted Date: Submitted CASPA in early May, it was sent out with the first group. Interview Invites: Idaho A.T. Still Touro Wake Forest Pacific Withdrew: Samuel Merritt Midwestern Denied: AT Still UC Denver Accepted: Wake Forest Pacific Idaho State Touro Nevada 1st attempt Decided to go to: Pacific My tips: I didn't have extensive medical experience, but I had a lot of things going on. I did all these activities and had two part time jobs at the same time. So, I think it helped that they knew I could handle a lot and still maintain my GPA. I was really nervous my first interview, but after that I was able to loosen up a lot more. The only way I prepped for the interviews was finding out everything I could about the program, and making sure I had some solid questions to ask my interviewers. (Every one of my interviews they asked me if I had any questions for them) I thought it would be better not to sound too rehearsed, so I didn't do mock interviews or pre-script any answers to standard questions. But, that is just my preference. The admissions process was long and can be stressful, but try to enjoy it. I made it a point to take some extra days in each city, to check it out and see if it is somewhere I could see myself fitting in. Congrats to all who got in, and good luck to those who are hoping too!

beancurd
Sorry, but how does CASPA calculate undergrad cGPA? I read https://portal.caspaonline.org/applicants2011/faq/gpas.htm , and my understanding is that lower div classes that I've taken in community college(before transferring into a 4 year university) count towards the undergrad cGPA. Did I get that right? Thank you for your help.
