Guest nonlethal
I have a job interview in the ER at the hospital (it's the regional level I trauma center) tomorrow. Gotta love the veterans preference checkbox! I've been working as an EMT in a hospital-based clinic for the past 6 months now. I know a few of the nurses and several of them are veterans of one branch or another, mostly army. Any one know of any good army jokes I can use to break the ice? preferably not jokes that would give them an excuse to break my head:D. I'd like to work there, not be a patient... If scared to deploy you might want to look into air national guard or coast guard reserve. Of course there is still the USPHS but that's active not reserve. JenGintheED
Per our newly-posted rules: 1. You must have verifiable military service, or immediate family to military service members2. No embellishments, or you will be busted out! 3. Only post on military relevant topics. 4. First post in the Roll Call thread to introduce yourself..... Here's why I read the Military Forum with so much interest (please pardon the lack of proper terminology): Proud to be a Marine Corps brat... born in Yuma, AZ, lived in Millington, TN and Beaufort, SC. My dad has passed away so I can't ask details, but he served approx 1968-88. Worked on communication & navigation equipment in planes. Retired as an E-8. My "service" includes working as a clerk in the PX on USMCRD Parris Island (first job), lifeguard on PI (second job) and 2.5 years as a contract ED tech in USN Hospital Beaufort (first medical job). And though it was before we met, the love of my life is a former military man, too. His DD214 reads "11B10 Infantryman 4 years and 2 months", 1987-91. Stationed in Colorado & Germany.
