PAmommy
Hey everyone, Just courious what your PA program's min GPA while in PA school is. The min at my school is 3.0. I had a 3.95 undergrad, but I just finished my first set of tests and I tell you some of the classes are kicking my butt. We are allowed to have one "c" we have to maintain a 3.0 or remidiate. Good times. You wouldn't think a 3.0 would be hard.... But its not easy either!! I know of several schools that just require a 2.0 min GPA. I was wondering if the 3.0 was standard while in school, or if my program is setting its standards high.

greenmood
We have to remediate any measure during the didactic year on which we score below 70. Overall GPA I'm actually not 100% sure. Clinical year is different. Can't remediate the end-of-rotation exams and the threshhold for passing the clerkship is higher.
shawnmclane
75 is the minimum passing grade. Anything below you have to remediate. You can remediate a total of two classes during the duration of the program.
hitzgrl123
We need to score a 75 on each individual exam- lower and we must remediate (but the score is not changed). We can remediate two exams in each class. Need to finish each class with at least a 75 or we're out of the program.
mtg1111
Each program sets its minimum standards in regards to GPA; however, in order to be eligible for federal financial aid, students must maintain a minimum of a 3.0.
mackjacks
3.0 overall and nothing less than a B in the PA-specific classes. Nothing less than a B on any one PA exam either.
stellahead
Ours is 3.0, which they upped to 85% (from 80%), a few years ago. Any grade under 85 on an exam will get you a friendly email from your advisor. Back to studying...
Administrator rev ronin Posted September 15, 2012 Administrator Share Posted September 15, 2012 My programs was 80% or remediate on every single exam. Fail twice and lose your semester break to studying and re-remediating, fail the third time and be washed back a year.
flyingsquirrel
We have to maintain a 3.0 GPA and pass each class with at least a C. Anything lower than a final grade of a C in any class = dismissal from the program.
Moderator EMEDPA Posted September 15, 2012 Moderator Share Posted September 15, 2012 at many of the ms level programs 80% = pass, 79% = fail.
