Maynard
I've officially got a new a favorite study album. It's Brian Eno's Neroli: What are the rest of yall's favs?
Dynamo24
I can't do music with lyrics because I get too distracted, so all my suggestions will be mainly musical: Tycho - Awake Helios - Yume Vessels - Dilate God is an Astronaut - Self-titled album Explosion in the Sky - The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place --> these guys did the Lone Survivor soundtrack, if you're familiar with the movie. Eluvium - Copa These are my favorite albums by these groups but I would recommend almost any of their work. I could go on and on but I'll spare you guys. orthotech85
I use the 8-10 hour rain recordings on YouTube as I can't listen to lyrics and it helps me relax.
Reality Check 2
The local public classical music station on old fashioned FM radio except Sunday nights when the Opera hit. Sometimes, the fat lady singing ain't that pretty. Anything classical. Anything too New Age and I would snore or want a massage. Favorites some days were Enya and Benedictine Monks chanting. Yep, I am old.
EMSGuy1982
Any music by Skrillex- It definitely keeps you awake and going. Minimal lyrics and great beats. I read somewhere in a book called "Study without stress" that we were required to read during our first quarter of PA school. It that listening to music is a bad idea when studying. If I didn't have music I wouldn't have made it through didactic year! I've got lots of playlists made on Amazon music.
Maynard
I would've never taken Skrillex to be good study music -- it seemed to be too in-your-face to be good for studying, but now that I've tried it I see what you mean. Good stuff.

Good stuff. Yes some tracks are in your face but that's what I needed while studying some topics that were brutally dry. Check out Lindsey Sterling... Dub-step + violinist. Gets the neurons firing! Holly_Diana
I like to listen to 8tracks and I usually will enter in a playlist that is along the lines of "jazz, instrumental, study." Like many people said, I cannot focus if the music has lyrics. Definitely there are some good recommendations here I might try to incorporate more into my studying. I like jazz but it made the perfect recipe for sleep when I was studying health maintenance and vitamins/supplements. Give flux pavilion a try. More lyrics but same up-beat tempo. Administrator rev ronin Posted April 1, 2016 Administrator Share Posted April 1, 2016 For those of you who like lyric-less study music, I recommend http://www.ayoungscores.com/ from the genius behind Owl City.

clucky334
I sit at the library with my headphones on and just turn on Pandora to "2cellos radio" station. It doesn't play any lyrics, just instrumentals.
nodbran
Great topic! I definitely listen to some Eno when I study. Also, Chopin, Satie, Liszt...I like mellow piano sonatas. When I want something with some more teeth to it I'll listen to Explosions in the Sky.
patterson
While studying I usually listen David Garrett and Vitamin String Quartet covers. They are upbeat but still melodic. Helps me to concentrate.
loganmills
I just listen to different random Indie Pop songs on Deezer or turn on the Coffitivity App. Definitely suggest the last one.
drjane
Unfortunately, music distracts me from studying though I like listen to it.
