@Skeeter:

Among the providers I observed/worked with/for in different community health clinics locally, everyone speak highly of MEDEX regards its mission to train PAs to commit primary care & serve the under-served. Over many years working in one same group of community clinics (which has very high turnover rate of providers &medical staff), I had seen many providers (different licensed PCPs) left but all MEDEX PAs stayed except 2 (1 no longer volunteer on-call there due to long distance travel from home, another moved to out of state with family but still dedicated to community clinic in that remote state).

One PA was a recent MEDEX Seattle grad, that PA was one of the best diagnostician (as a PCP, that PA wrote referrals to specialist/imagings/etc those were never returned for further "clarifications" ever!). The same PA has panel of patients filled so Quick!(just months after joining clinic) (must be word of mouth) (I'd say quickest, quicker than those dual specialties MDs/DOs, there was used to be an MD transfer-in from Swedish, half of her panel was Swedish patients, the latter half filled with clinic patients quickly as well but that MD couldn't stand the stressful works & left in just

When I used to be mail opener for providers, greater/better jobs invitations to those PAs were never ending; but those PAs chose to continue to serve their patients panel in these low-income clinics. As a patient, as a student, as a co-worker; I was inspired by them and it's my goal to be train as a PA to serve the communities as they were & are on going.

I think us Anchorage folks will know if we will get an interview by this time next month. They said at the info session I went to that they will give us a minimum of three weeks but probably more. Here's hoping for more than three weeks notice and an invite!

Seattle applicants- has anyone recently received an interview invite for end of Oct yet? I know MEDEX doesn't tend to give much notice for interviews but I was curious if a new batch of emails has been sent out yet. My guess is no since i haven't seen anyone on here post about it.

Ok good! Thanks car.jenna! I thought about calling too, but now I won't. Maybe they are working on the admissions decisions that they are supposed to have done by the end of this week and then will send out invites next week. We will see! Good luck!

I haven't heard either. I called yesterday and asked if they knew when the next round of interview invites will be sent out for Seattle. They said they were not sure yet. Sorry, this isn't more helpful. I'm anxious too.

Thank you so much for the information!!! I am hoping for an interview invite as well.

I am new to this forum...had some "trouble" getting verified....I interviewed at Medex on Sept 30th and have yet to hear anything.  Like everyone else who has interviewed, I am very anxious and have to "talk myself down"...I am hopeful for everyone else as well as myself.  Due to family constraints, I am unable to apply anywhere but the UW....so this is it!

Staying hopeful

Those of you waiting to hear about second round interviews... Last year they did them late. Dec or Jan. They did the 1st interviews for all 4 sites first and then held a second round in Seattle. They seemed to call about 2wks before the interviews. Tacoma was the last of the sites to interview. (It was unpleasant waiting to hear as all of the other sites were getting invites.)
