Schools Applied:Baylor, Red Rocks, ASHS, Harding, UF, Midwestern Application Submitted Date: Before due dates Schools Received Application Date: About a month after. It felt that long anyway Interview Invites:I got invited to 2 interviews. ASHS and Red Rocks. Neither of which even consider the GRE. GPA: 3.76 Age at application time : 23 1st GRE: 1260 (V:600, Q:660, A:4.5) Direct Patient Care : Nutrition Counseling @ CSU health center (24), Diet Tech in Hospital 900 These are not generally the types of patient care exp schools are looking for, so I applied to schools that did not have a requirement for direct patient care. However, I did shadow several PAs, which I think was crucial in proving that I knew what I was getting into. Extracurricular/Research Activities: Volunteer at health fairs, Research volunteer for children's education programs aimed at defeating childhood diabetes and obesity (Food Friends/Mighty Moves; Program Energy) Schools Applied: UCHSC (Denver CHA/PA); Univeristy of Toledo; Saint Francis University (Loretto, PA); University of Wichita; Idaho State University Application Submitted Date: August 2007 Schools Received Application Date: Can't remember, but it was maybe a couple weeks Interview Invites: Invited to all I applied for Denied: Idaho (I think the fact that I wasn't impressed with the video lecturing and virtual anatomy showed through) Withdrew Application: Wichita Waitlisted: UCHSC Accepted: Saint Francis; Toledo. I will be attending Saint Francis in May! Attempts: 1 State of Residence: Colorado I hope this gives encouragement to those who think they don't have enough medical experience to get into PA school. While it's probably true, you can't just expect to get in with the knowledge you gain reading US News report, people do get accepted that do not have the traditional medical experience.
