I am getting ready to apply this upcoming cycle and my two local programs are both having open houses in the next month. I am wondering what I should wear to these? If you get there and everyone (including faculty) is in business casual, just remove your jacket. If you get there and the students are dressed in sweatpants but the faculty are in business attire, YOU are correct and should be confident in your professionalism. I had figured as much but as I do not currently own a suit jacket I was hoping I could wait until interview time to buy a suit.
