is PA easier to get into than MD?

Recommended Posts

It is roughly the same percentage wise. For instance, Yale had an acceptance rate of 3.2% for the PA program vs 2.3% for MD program. PCOM had a 2% acceptance rate for PA and Emory had ~4% for PA vs 2.6% for MD. If you notice all of these are less than 5% and these are really good schools. These are just some stats for you. Therefore, if you have a mediocre GPA, it will hard to get in PA school as well unless your rest of your application is amazing (like 3 years of direct patient care experience, tons of volunteer and shadowing hrs, leadership positions, etc). Good Luck!

It is infinitely easier to get into medical school, because there are a host of worldwide options that simply are not available to PAs--Caribbean, Cuba, etc.  If you're asking if it's easier to get into U.S. med school than PA school, the answer is still probably yes.
