mgpd9638
Good Morning I am currently working in law enforcement in the New York metro area. I am interested in going to PA school (part time). I know many people have proposed this questioned and have found several answers out there. I was hoping to find someone that is currently a PA with a similar background or dilemma that is a student. I have found this forum helpful but I figured throw this question out there. I have 10yrs of full time pre hospital care experience in NYC as emt, attended paramedic school then made the jump to law enforcement. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Moderator LT_Oneal_PAC Posted July 23, 2012 Moderator Share Posted July 23, 2012 There are some schools (I forget which) that will allow the classes to be done part time, but the clinical is always done full time.
Cideous
PA school is pretty much a full 23 month surrender of your life, at least it was went I attended.

medic25
There used to be an emergency medicine PA (I believe at LIJ) who was also an officer with the NYPD ESU. If you've got any contacts in either place who can put you in touch with him he might have some suggestions on making the transition.
SocialMedicine
An online program for PA school? For profit schools starting PA programs with inadequate resources? Unreal. Whats next?
jsfelder0417
I am thinking of applying for a reserve officer position with my local LE when I finish school, but right now I am so busy with school I do not think I could do both.
chiefPA
There are no part time PA schools in NYC. Touro Manhattan meets M-Thurs 4-9p and Sun 9-5 Clinical is all over the place Is there an option at work that would allow you to go back to school?
