TheChicPA
Hello all! I am a practicing physician assistant just 6 months out of school from a bachelor's in PA studies. I want to get my masters but unsure of whether to go with health administration route or public health route. Not sure which one would mean what for me and what are my options to grow professionally. I just need some opinions and guidance. Thanks everyone.
Administrator rev ronin Posted April 8, 2018 Administrator Share Posted April 8, 2018 Congratulations! A couple of clarifying questions... What state are you in? Do you anticipate ever moving to a state that requires a masters' degree for PA practice? Of Health Administration and Public Health, which appeals to you more? How are you doing on finances? Most folks 6 months in practice are up to their eyeballs in debt.
sas5814
There are masters in Physician Assistant Studies. I don't know if you are trying to broaden your education and thus vary your studies of if you are working on degree parity in order to be competitive. GetMeOuttaThisMess
I would encourage you to get the MS in PAS. This is from someone who has walked in those shoes and almost had it bite me on the backside a couple of years back, in spite of 30 years clinical experience.
