ryebread203
Only one week away from the 2016 CASPA going online. Figured it would be good to start a thread for those applying to UC Davis.

Ktsterry
I submitted and was verified 5/25. It looks from last year's forum that we won't hear a peep until August and interview invitations go out mid-September. What a long time to wait for such an early cut off date! IronyDeficient
August?! Almost makes me wonder if part of the process is assessing our ability to keep calm while waiting to hear back.
PAok
I submitted as well. Do they send out a confirmation that they received your application? or is it literally no response until August?
etokuyama
I submitted as well. Do they send out a confirmation that they received your application? or is it literally no response until August? Not sure of this either. All I know is that they send out a secondary app to those they are interested in. Its been about a month though, I applied to 9 different schools and they are the only ones I haven't gotten a confirmation email from.

flghtychck
Not sure of this either. All I know is that they send out a secondary app to those they are interested in. Its been about a month though, I applied to 9 different schools and they are the only ones I haven't gotten a confirmation email from. I applied on the last cycle. The first contact they sent to anyone was an email at the end of August to let us know that they received our applications. In the middle of September they started contacting people to come for a tour/interview for mid October. (I did not get an invite for that). On the 30th of October they sent out invitations to fill out secondary applications and rejections. (I did get an invite for this). The secondary applications were due on December 1st. One of the contacts from the school said that they would be making their decisions by February or March. They sent out acceptances, wait list invites and rejections on December 11th. I was accepted as a wait list candidate. The only thing the letter said was that we needed to email them to accept the wait list spot and that the wait list was active until the 30th of June, 2016. It didn't directly say it in the email, but it was implied that there would be no further contact from the school unless it was to invite you to enroll. One of the current students I talked to said that they lost 20 of the 60 students that were in his cohort right after the white coat ceremony. :-( That really upset me, because I am sure there were at least 20 people on that wait list that would have given anything to have one of those spots. I think that they could cut down on things like this if they had a seat deposit. I don't understand why someone would purposefully take a seat that they had no intention of keeping. I know that was more than you asked, but I figured I would cover all the bases.

DiggySRNA
...they lost 20 of the 60 students that were in his cohort right after the white coat ceremony. :-( Was this due to academics or...because they decided to go elsewhere after enrollment? I'm not sure which current student said that, but we definitely did not lose 20 students! Our class is of 40 and we lost 2 after the white coat ceremony because of financial reasons. All 40 of us successfully finished our first year so you don't have anything to worry about. Hope that clarifies things a bit!
jsylte
Good to know! That number seemed way too high. This program seems to be much better run than to allow 20 spots to turnover at the white coat ceremony.
Excited2BPA
Hi helloPA, I was wondering if you could say a little about the program? How it is run, how classes are, etc? Thank you! :)
