  1. I'm assuming that seats have opened up from those who have dropped theirs. I ended up dropping my seat. :/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Penn state. Cost of living alone is a good enough reason for me. I don't think that extra curriculars or lack there of is important because how much time/$$ do you think you'll really have to enjoy these things? And as far as residency goes, unless either school has an affiliation with a residency program (I'm not familiar with east coast schools), then I can't imagine it matters a whole lot where you went. Also, did you confirm that you can get in-state tuition in year two? I only ask because the program I'm going to just this year was forced to get rid of that perk. It's probably a state legislature thing, but it's worth double checking with your program! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. More and more programs have been requiring biochem, so if you need O Chem II as a biochem prerequisite then definitely do it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I got in also!!! I went with Pocatello. So excited!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Anyone who has interviewed more recently, were you given a time to expect the first offers to be sent out? I was told around Thanksgiving but I'm impatient so hoping for more specific information ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Will you be done with these prereqs in this spring semester? Agree with those above...shadow this PA more and ask for the letter. You need a letter from a PA for a lot of schools, sometimes also a physician. They've been through this and if they took you as a shadow then they've taken others and I'm sure have written their fair share of LOR. The worst that can happen is they'll say no and then you try again with shadowing someone new! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. For those of us who are in review/interviewing now, it took a month after our grad apps were submitted to be told that we were in review, and then another 3 weeks to be offered an interview. But I believe they're still working on interviews for 5.18 and up. I'm not sure how it works though since you submitted later...I would maybe just contact Ann. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I took the internal medicine rotation to be the primary care rotation, but I suppose I just assumed that! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. FYI- they did not cancel the January 2017 start date. ARC-PA requested more information from them before making a final decision. The January start is still a possibility, and there is also a possibility that it could be deferred until April or worst case scenario next January. As far as interviews went, I didn't feel that they were cold at all, just good poker faces. And I've done several interviews and have never been given folders or anything. I guess I'm just saying that I didn't find any concerns with the program during the interview. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I'll be in Pocatello on Wednesday, Nov 2...anyone else on that day?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. How long did it take them to call you guys with dates? I can't turn in my survey until next week because all of the schools are closed and I don't know the graduation rates of my high school. I'm hoping that doesn't make a difference on when they'll call. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Just got my invite!! So incredibly thrilled! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Those who were offered interviews, have you been given dates yet? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Thank you!! I really appreciate all of your responses! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. So, I was asked this question in an interview and I had trouble putting together an answer. They asked what I would say to a patient who stated that they wanted to see a "real doctor" not a "doctor's assistant". Just looking for some insight from you all on what points you think would be most useful to make on response to this. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
