If this passes, it is yet another boon for NPs, and another mail in the PA coffin. Has AAPA even tried to include PA's? If not, WHY?

Link?

ETA: Googling ICAN gets... https://icanpeacework.org, https://www.ican-online.org, https://www.icanw.org, https://www.i-can.center... Pretty sure none of those are what you're referring to.

I just left telephone messages for the bill's sponsors and for my own congressperson to include PA's in this legislation.  I encourage everyone else to do this, as well.  Now I am going to send a message to my LinkedIn contacts.

After posting a message on LinkedIn about this matter, I read through my LinkedIn feed and saw this:

Wishing a wonderful #NPweek to our NP colleagues. We value working with you to expand patient access to high-quality care. #teamwork American Association of Nurse Practitioners

So, if anyone is wondering why the AAPA hasn't had time to advocate for PA's on the ICAN bill, you now know: it's because they are too busy sucking up to NP's.

Most likely the only way to amend would be from your state PA association or AAPA. Unfortunately yo many of them appear to not feel these issues are important. Young PAs struggling to get jobs or who are turned down because only NPs due to decreased paperwork and regulations, should sue everyone in leadership who have hindered progress by lack of action. Those in the position to promote the future of profession and have not done everything possible or out right hindered PAs from keeping up with NP for job opportunities should be sued. As  photograph 51 said, AAPA is to busy playing nice with physicians, and NPs, and not busy enough getting PAs listed on such bills.
