ScubaBubble
Let's just dream a little and say I became a PA (currently applying!) I then found a great job and worked for a few years. Would I be able to later take time off to be a full time parent for 1-2 years and then go back and find a job as a PA again? Or would I have to pass any exams or retake PANCE before doing so? CAAdmission
No problem, just keep your PA-C up with CME. There are some states (Texas?) that won't license you if you have not been working clinically elsewhere.
Administrator rev ronin Posted September 12, 2017 Administrator Share Posted September 12, 2017 It's a lot easier to go to 4-8 hours per week, or even 8 per month, rather than no clinical time for 2 years or so. I'll also note that part time jobs are much easier to come by when you have a track record of 3-5 years as a PA.
GetMeOuttaThisMess
Texas for example requires the equivalent of six months of FT work every two years to maintain your license, at least this was the case about three years ago when I took an extended break due to family care matters.
