Do you know when they will plan on hosting interviews?

I can't say for sure but in the past they have interviewed March through April, sometimes as late as May.

Hello everyone! To all those who applied, has anyone received confirmation that Sophie Davis has received their application? From past threads, it looks like they don't start sending out invites until Jan/Feb ? Good luck to all those who applied !!

Hello, could you please elaborate on what club hour is?

Club hour is a student society function. Main purpose of that time slot is for prospective students and applicants to come in and meet with current students to find out about the program, general PA student life, ask questions and get advice. There's usually around 10 PA students available during that hour....both first year PA students and juniors.

Is registration required to attend? That's very useful, thank you!

Hi! I am interesting in attending a club hour, however I have class at that time. Is there possibly another time that prospective students can meet with current students? Thanks for the info!

Anyone receive interviews yet? if not do you know when they will be sending out interviews.

they will not call for interviews until after the deadline which is sometime in January. If they follow past trends, calls will be made in late Feb/March

Has anyone heard from the program even just confirmation that they received your application? I submitted in September and haven't heard anything (I know interviews won't come until at least after the January deadline but just want to make sure I'm not missing an "application received" email) thanks and good luck everyone! :)

I haven't gotten one either and I submitted back in July, so I think they wait until after the deadline before they start looking at applications. I was wondering the same thing. Best of luck to you!

Hi!

Is club hour offered in the month of January ? Or even next week on the 29th?

Thanks!

Hi, we are on winter break and although classes resume for PA students in the second week of Jan, we will not be holding club hour until end of Jan/first week of Feb.

someone from the club will definitely post when club hours resume!

Hi all,

Quick question/need of advice. I tried calling admissions, but no luck. I'm trying to categorize my pre-requisite courses. During undergrad, I took biochemistry, so I listed that under biochemistry, of course. However, I completed my physiology lecture and lab separately. A survey of human physiology course (3 semester units) and a lab called mammalian physiology lab (2 semester units). I took human anatomy (lecture and lab were combined) at a community college. I don't know whether I should list the survey of human physiology course and mammalian physiology lab under the "mammalian physiology" pre-req although the lecture portion was human based. OR should I list those two courses and human anatomy as A&P I and II, although they weren't technically named A&P. Thoughts? Thanks in advanced!

Hey, I want to ask you did you attend CUNY school for your undergraduate degree? If yes, then go to website https://tipps.cuny.edu/    This website will tell you about your credit equivalencies and it will help you to list your classes. I hope it will help.

I just spoke to the admissions office on the phone and they said they do not send out confirmation emails, as long as you received one from CASPA that your application was sent to them you're good!

Hi everyone,

I emailed in to see if my application was received and I got an email back from admissions that said:

Thank you for submitting your application to our Physician Assistant Program. We are so excited that you have chosen the CUNY School of Medicine as one of your college choices.

You should have received a confirmation from CASPA when you submitted your application. We do not have rolling admissions, so you should expect to hear back from the PA Program between late March and early April. In the meantime, during the review process if we need any information we will contact you.

Good luck to everyone and hope this helps clear up some misunderstandings!

Hi,

Im a little confused with the recent name change to the program. I just wanted to confirm if CUNY School of Medicine is the official name to the program? Or is Sophie Davis an affiliate to the CUNY School of Medicine? Thanks!

The official name of the program, as of Fall 2016, is the CUNY School of Medicine PA Program. It was previously called Sophie Davis PA program, but not any longer. It is sometimes called the Harlem PA program, but the first name is the "official" correct name :)
