  1. Congrats to all that have been offered a seat. Keep a watchful eye for upcoming emails regarding making deposits, orientation dates etc. enjoy this summer and spend time with friends and family. Orientation will be here before you know it and you will be starting the marathon that is PA school. To everyone else, keep up your hopes! If anyone is waitlisted, keep checking emails until classes begin, seats could open up any time leading up to first day of class. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Interview are individual, not group. Expect to be there for a few hours. Last year 2000+ applications were received. Approximately 150-200 were interviewed (I think, not sure) There are typically 35 seats for each cycle. Be yourself but be professional. Never lie during the interview. And be prepared to discuss your application including why you are choosing this program. Good luck everyone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. With regards to "redoing" a year, we call it a prescription year. When someone fails a course they are asked to repeat the course and continue on with the next class. Some people take a leave due to personal/medical reasons and continue on with the next class. Class of 2017...I believe 11 have taken the PANCE and all 11 passed so far. Others are still studying. Students can take the pance soon after graduation. It's up to the student when they want to take it. During clinicals we rotate though Hospitals like Harlem, woodhull, Montefiore, interfaith as well as smaller clinics and offices. We do not chose where we are placed, it is a random placement. With regards to jobs....I haven't heard of anyone not finding a job after graduation. Some find positions during rotations. Hope this helps Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. Hi, we are on winter break and although classes resume for PA students in the second week of Jan, we will not be holding club hour until end of Jan/first week of Feb. someone from the club will definitely post when club hours resume! :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. they will not call for interviews until after the deadline which is sometime in January. If they follow past trends, calls will be made in late Feb/March Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Sorry if this a repeat topic (I'm sure it is) I did my best to glance through past threads before posting... Two questions! Looking for opinions and personal preference to quick hit books for surgery rotation. I lived off of Schwartz for didactic. I also own First Aid for Surgery but heard Surgical Recall is best for rotation. Would love to hear what you all found as a best quick hit source! Also....brands of reliable compressions socks! [emoji16] Thank you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Club hour is a student society function. Main purpose of that time slot is for prospective students and applicants to come in and meet with current students to find out about the program, general PA student life, ask questions and get advice. There's usually around 10 PA students available during that hour....both first year PA students and juniors.
  9. I can't say for sure but in the past they have interviewed March through April, sometimes as late as May. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Hello everyone, for those interested in the PA program, club hour has resumed for the fall semester. It is held at 12:30Pm on Thursday's in Harris hall.
  11. Congrats to everyone accepted. Make sure you submit your deposit on time. Check your email regularly for updates from the program. By July you will probably start working on your Harlem Hospital IDs. Use this summer to rest up and spend time with family and friends. We will be seeing you soon. To those who did not get in, don't give up. Meet with Ms Brown to go over what you can for next application cycle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
