Moderator LT_Oneal_PAC Posted December 18, 2015 Moderator Share Posted December 18, 2015 Well, the studies in the 60s absolutely were cross contaminates as they made them in the same containers back then. Studies today show that if you have a true anaphylaxis to PCN, you are at increased risk to allergy to any abx, not just cephalosporins. Essentially, you can go ahead and give that 2nd gen ceph and later without a second thought in PCN allergy.
