RichardLPeeA
Thanks for all the input guys and gals. Spoke with my SP. I'm gonna take a short vacation in 2 weeks. We also are going to revamp my schedule to allow me regular time off during the week. Raise is still on the horizon. I'll see how this goes and put the locums job on ice for now. It'll always be there. I think you did the right thing by talking to your SP. Hope you enjoy the vacation, are you giving any concideration to per diem? cinntsp
Not to hijack the thread but for those that have worked locums - what are the expectations as far as EMR familiarity when taking a gig? Do most places expect you to already be familiar with whatever they use, do they give a two day crash course, etc?
Boatswain2PA
Joel - congrats. Hope you just needed a break. Paula- young? Not so much anymore. But did 20 year career doing SAR before PA school with similar schedule much of the time. Its all about sleeping when you can. Chris - some places still use T-sheets, others require EMR. I just have to learn how to do HPI, exam, results, and plan.....and ask nurses for help for everything else. Remember these are low volume places so I have time to stumble around the computer. Marinejiujitsu
What are the locum agencies which work with the 72 hr shifts? Sounds very appealing. I have a site that does 10 and one does 12.
Moderator EMEDPA Posted October 18, 2014 Moderator Share Posted October 18, 2014 www.passllc.com has several contracts at places with 48 hr shifts.
