doubledown10
What did everybody use as an outline or study material?
fireguy
I really didnt study for it other than the internship that I went through with my employer and my constant listening to different podcasts such as ERcast, SMARTEM, and EMCRIT. Moderator ventana Posted February 16, 2013 Moderator Share Posted February 16, 2013 When is a CAQ for Geriatrics or at least and internal Medicine......
Moderator EMEDPA Posted February 16, 2013 Moderator Share Posted February 16, 2013 I don't think we will see one for any primary care field. Geriatrics is a possibility as is hospital medicine and critical care. I know a lot of folks are anti-caq but I think this is a trend we can't stop at this point. anyone refusing to take one based on principle may find themselves out of a job in the future just like if they refused to take panre. in other threads I have discussed the advantages I have seen for those who passed a caq but I will rehash briefly here: promotions, increased pay, increased scope of practice, and more respect from physician colleagues. docs like the concept of a specialty exam ( and a residency but that is another topic) so they respect those who have achieved this benchmark. RetNavyPAC
What did everybody use as an outline or study material? I used Tintinalli's EM: Just the Facts, 3d Ed, and 1200 Questions To Help You Pass the Emergency Medicine Boards [h=3][/h]
Moderator EMEDPA Posted February 18, 2013 Moderator Share Posted February 18, 2013 I took it cold. I figured if I didn't pass it after 25 years of em practice that there was something very wrong with with me.
