Lead Pipe
Hey, I'll be a senior in high school next year and am going to apply to direct entry pa programs (five year BS/MS). Anyone here doing the same thing or heard about these programs?
Moderator True Anomaly Posted July 24, 2012 Moderator Share Posted July 24, 2012 My residency-mate did the five-year program at St Johns in NYC. Did very well because she's brilliant

jen0508
Just curious, do most direct entry programs also have heathcare hour requirements or are they meant for 18 y/o's that are straight out of highschool? O_o
mackjacks
My class has about 10-15 of the MS students coming from the 3 year program. I believe they had to obtain CNA or EMT-B and obtain 1,000-2,000 hours during their 3 years of undergrad.

O_o They're meant for 18 y/o's straight out of high school but most of them require some health care hours or shadowing. Not a lot though, the highest I've seen is 80 hours. You're expected to fill a larger requirement during the first three years though (300+)
