quirkyPA530
Hi there! I am curious if any current students, pre-PAs or current PAs know if it is possible/difficult to get a job at a different state than where you attend school? For example, I will be attending Colorado's PA Program but I want to end up working back in Chicago. Any advice? Thanks!
MT2PA
Of course it's possible. Hundreds, if not thousands, of students do it every year.
minnesotaprepa
Definitely possible. Most of the PAs I shadowed got their first job back in their home state (different than where they trained.)
UGoLong
If you know where you want to practice, sometimes you can arrange some rotations back there during your clinical year.
Corpsman2PA
Absolutely possible. You just need to be licensed in the state you want to practice. I know multiple PAs that work across state lines, but carry state board licenses for each state. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
virtuous woman
While it is possible, it can be difficult, especially if your area is not the biggest fan of PAs. That being said, I don't think you'll have a problem in Chicago. Just in case, try to set up some rotations and do some networking there.
