Hello!

I am new to the forum. I have a question has anyone taken any of their prerequisites at UNE online? I need Organic Chemistry, Anatomy, Biochem, and Genetics. I am hoping to attend Wingate at Hendersonville in North Carolina. :-)

I am excited to be apart of this group as I start my journey. I am an older student and would appreciate any advice.

Thank you all!!

Just an FYI I would check with the programs you are interested in applying to and see if they require labs to be taken in person or not. Most programs will not accept online labs.

Assuming the school allows for lab online labs, UNE is NOT the way to go. I highly suggest looking at Doane University instead. I have done classes from both schools and Doane is leaps and bounds ahead of UNE as far as course delivery, content and professor availability.

I took Genetics at UNE and was able to ask my instructor questions whenever I wanted with prompt responses via course messages on blackboard. I didn't do much outside studying, worked 50 to 60 hours a week, and got an A-. Lots of busy work, but it's an online class, what do you expect?

It looks on their website and on the CASPA prerequisites page like you have to take anatomy&physiology I and II...is this true? I took a separate human anatomy class and a physiology class - they weren't combined. I don't want to apply if this will not fulfill the requirement. Also, it says "Two semesters of human anatomy & physiology with laboratory (from a biology, physiology, zoology department, or an allied health program)"...my courses are from my school's kinesiology dept...will this not work?
      Thanks, I appreciate your feedback.

Im curious about the difficulty of the course and wether or not the exams/finals are open note/internet. and if so, is it easy to find solutions online to the questions along with good explanations.

      Hi everyone!
I am enrolled in the Biochem course online at Doane University starting May 25. I was wondering if those who have taken this course before recommend the digital version of the textbook or the paper version? If I buy the digital version, will it be missing certain materials I will need for the course (ie. CDs, access cards)?
      Thank you in advance!

Anyone know if UC San Diego extension courses ( https://extension.ucsd.edu/courses-and-programs/biochemistry) count towards most PA school pre-requisites. I need to take Biochemistry and Genetics over the summer. First time applicant and these would be my two in-progress courses.

UC San Diego's prices are pretty good from what I see. Unfortunately most schools that I e-mailed regarding pre-requisites say they can't provide info on if the course would satisfy their requirements at this time.

Otherwise does anyone have suggestions for where I could take online classes that count towards most schools but still affordable? Currently out of work due to COVID-19.
      Any help is appreciated!
