SunDevil
I saw that a conversation has been started for the Hendersonville campus but not the main campus! I was wondering if we were supposed to receive a confirmation email that our CASPA was received from Wingate? My CASPA was verified 6/30 and GRE scores were sent 6/28 but I haven't received anything from them yet. I've heard from every other school besides this one! Is anyone else in the same boat? ilygurlie
They do not send anything after you submit. I was verified around 6/8 and got an interview invite 2 weeks later.
lmack1213
I don't think they send a confirmation e-mail. I submitted mine mid June and was invited to an interview a few days later. After looking at past threads, it seems like they don't send out confirmations regardless.
Eeeyjay
I received an interview invitation this morning for September 5th!
ilygurlie
Does anyone know how Wingate decides when to interview you? Some people who applied early have interviews in November while others who applied later have interviews in Sept?
OverbyK
I have applied for a position on main campus as well. I did not expect this process to be as stressful as it is, however, I am very excited. Hopefully we will all get to know each other soon!
rlschwar
@Eeeyjay Mine is September 12th! I read that they interview about 6 applicants per session, with there being only one session per week. I think your session is the first one of the cycle.
Eeeyjay
@rlschwar Congrats! Three days ago (about 2 weeks prior to the interview session) they sent an email with more information about the interview and the schedule for the day, so look for that soon. I'm getting really excited/nervous!
rlschwar
if anyone ever wants to get lunch or anything like that to talk about preparing for the interview, or just to help relax us i'd be down.
ilygurlie
Does anyone know how many interviews they give out?
SunDevil
I gave up my spot for an 11/28 interview due to being accepted into a program in my home state! Hope this opens up a spot for those waiting for an interview, good luck to you all :)
rlschwar
@SunDevil just curious, but what program did you get accepted into?
SunDevil
@rlschwar I got accepted into Midwestern University in Glendale.... I was born and raised in AZ and really didn't want to move out of state so last year I just applied to 2 schools in AZ and had an interview at Midwestern but got waitlisted! I received one of their first interview slots again this year and got accepted 4 days later!
rlschwar
@Eeeyjay Hopefully the interview went well!
Eeeyjay
@rlschwar Thanks! I was a ball of stress, but it actually was pretty fun otherwise. No surprises or anything crazy. Just have to wait now.... Good luck with your interview!
rlschwar
@Eeeyjay im definitely nervous about the MMI, but I'm sure im stressing out for no reason. I have only heard great things about the interviews and the program. my only other question is do you know if they pick the most qualified candidates for their first few interview sessions? Eeeyjay
@rlschwar The MMI portion was definitely a little nerve-wracking at first, but after the first station I started to get more comfortable with it. Don't be too stressed and try to enjoy the morning, it was really nice having a group of just 6 interviewees and it felt very personal. I'm not sure how they decide who to interview first... In my opinion, I'm probably an average (or maybe even slightly below average?) applicant in terms of the typical "stats". I wouldn't worry too much about it though. Did you have any group interviews or was the interview only mmi + one on one with faculty member?
Eeeyjay
@ilygurlie Just MMI, one on one with a faculty member, and a brief convo with current student that they pair you up with. We also sat in on part of an anatomy lecture. No group interview.

I've been on interviews where it was all MMI and I feel like the program didn't get to know me at all.

Eeeyjay
@Madhatter Oh wow, they got back to you quickly. I haven't heard anything yet.
Madhatter
@EeeyjayI was surprised as well. Do you remember how the waitlist worked? I thought I heard a current student say the waitlist was based on who applied first. But some universities rank you in other ways. Any idea?
