Julie Reiff
I have applied to 9 PA schools and not one interview!! I have a 3.5GPA, a Biology Major/Spanish Minor, and a salary position as the medical assistant of a PA at one of the largest dermatology practice in the Southeast. IS PA SCHOOL JUST THAT COMPETITIVE OR AM I NOT QUALIFIED??
jmccue
Bad GRE scores? Quality letters of recommendation? Personal essay? Did you apply early enough? There are lots of possibilities.
KhoiFish82
What jmccue said above.....although most schools won't kill you over a GRE score. The letters of recommendations, personal essay, and when you submitted your application can play a big role however. Also do not forget that not only are you concerned about the quality of the letters of recommendations, you are also concerned on if they submitted on time as well. Your GPA, major, and background in healthcare are strong qualities which makes you a very strong applicant for PA school. Something must have gone awry for you to not get an invite. taotaox1
also, Yes. Pa school is pretty much that hard to get into now. most schools get 1-2k apps and accept around 48 to 60 from that. That said, more info is needed and gpa etc is only half the story. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
cinntsp
Aside from what was already said, did you apply late in the cycle? Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
foreveryoung
is your application well rounded? volunteer, leadership? Remember schools can only interview x number of applicants and so list any honor society, volunteer, leadership, certifications, etc... and make sure you read each website for schools you are applying for and that your prereqs match appropriately, and you are not missing any supplemental information required... break out your science GPA separately as well... winterallsummer
When did you apply and what is your PS like? A bad PS can be a killer, so can applying way late in the cycle. Give us more details. Did you only apply to super competitive schools or did you have 2-4 backup schools in the mix?
