dshrock
Hey guys, I was hoping to get some of you to weigh in on a recent offer I received. I am in my clinical year of school and graduate in December. This is my first offer. I am visiting the site later in the month. Full-time 1099 Contract Job No benefits; company has buy-in benefits that most midlevels at hospital use. Malpractice: 1 million/3 million with pre-purchased tail CME/DEA/License coverage: Negotiable Vacation/Sick Time: None (can take unpaid vacations) Call: None RVU's/Bonuses: Not at this time 12 shifts/month minimum guranteed; can pick up extra shifts at rate and occasional increased rate for holidays/times in need. Pay is $75/hr. They want to start me in a provider-in-triage role and slowly integrate me through fast-track and eventually be in regular ED. Any additional things I need to ask or try to get into contract before site visit? Thanks!

GetMeOuttaThisMess
Sounds like Emcare and their corporate package. All 1099's have to work backward to see what their true hourly take home rate is. I would argue most non-physician 1099's don't pass the IRS sniff test as a true IC'er. This won't be your problem but the employing/contracting corporations'. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
bananapeppers
emcare uses 1099? im employed through them part time, and i get $75/hr. remember that 1099 you have to pay more out in taxes for social security.
