Can anyone give me insight as to how fast the turn around time on decision for acceptance/waitlist/rejection is after the interview

It seems as though the interviewees who perform the best get informed of acceptance about 1-2 weeks after interviews. Everyone else will probably hear back around February when all sessions are done. I interviewed during the first session in September and unfortunately haven’t heard back since then.

Thank you for the insight! I got accepted somewhere else and am hoping i will get a response from them before this other program starts in January. I have an interview 12/3.

Can anyone give insight for the interview? Feeling a bit nervous. Also for those attending the interview will anyone be attending the meet and great and if so will you be bringing a plus one? Not sure if it is okay to bring my significant other or if it would be better to attend alone. Thanks for any input 😃

I felt that the interview was very relaxed and it gives you an opportunity to show who you are. As for the meet and greet, I would recommend bringing your significant other. They have a question and answer panel and some of the current students bring their significant others to allow the guests of the interviewees to ask them questions! It could be insightful for them. I would say a good amount of people interviewing brought a guest. Good luck on your interview!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi! I received an interview recently and am hoping someone here can please help me to understand the UTSW admissions process. I received invites to the first round of nearly every Texas school, or at least by the second round, due to having high stats and overall (it would seem) a good essay, recommendation, etc. I want to understand if UTSW sends interviews out in order of submission entry instead of in order of "ranked stats" like other schools do. I have already been accepted elsewhere so this is a hard sell to attend an interview. I wish they had been more prompt like other schools, so does anyone understand the process for giving out interviews? If I'm somewhat low ranked for them, it might not even be worth attending. But if it's by submission date... why do they do that lol?

So is the last session in February? Mine is in January. Seems they have a lot of sessiojs! How many applicants attend each session?

I think the last one is in January, but I believe they do another cumulative review of all interviewees who have not heard back to extend more acceptances, waitlist offers, or rejections.

Hi : ) Anyone from 12/3 interview heard back yet? I know the school might be busy this week to prepare for the weekend, but I thought I'd ask!

I received an acceptance call this morning around 10:30 AM CST! I actually missed the call so they called me back an hour later LOL I'm very excited and best of luck!
