Lead Pipe
Where do PA salaries generally plateau? Are most able to double their starting salary after 10-15 years?
Moderator EMEDPA Posted August 1, 2012 Moderator Share Posted August 1, 2012 depends on specialty. few pa's make more than 150k.
SocialMedicine
you can hit close to the top after 5+ years in North East in internal medicine which is over 90K. With alot of experience and a big patient following you could work out a low 120's in internal medicine in North East region. If you are in a specialty the salary is generally higher but you do not necessarily have your own patient panel where you can have a big negotiation. I would imagine a PA in primary care with a large panel could negotiate a similar salary as one in a specialty practice. I would say top PA salary is probably, in any specialty, in the low 100,000 range.
Moderator EMEDPA Posted August 2, 2012 Moderator Share Posted August 2, 2012 I would say top PA salary is probably, in any specialty, in the low 100,000 range. exceptions to this are em, surg, ortho, derm which all consistently top out around 150k.
