Rec letters

So I have solid rec letters from an MD, a charge nurse who was a direct supervisor, and a PA. I’m wondering how important it is to have an academic rec letter. I know I could get a very general one from undergrad but I don’t know if that would help or hurt. My understanding is that it’s not required and I would be better served by a rec from someone who knows me personally. Thoughts?

You are right on. In general, your academic record can speak for itself with your transcripts.

I would double check with your schools though some of them might require a letter from a professor

Some programs do require a letter from a professor.  A few I spoke to said this was non-negotiable.  So I didn't apply there because I was 5+ years removed from undergrad and didn't want to get a generic LOR just to have one from a professor.

Agreed with the above. The programs I applied to required one rec from a professor or advisor who can attest to my academic ability. Your other letter writers are pretty solid so you're good there.
