amykpac10
I am a recent grad and accepted my first job as a hospitalist PA. I am told I need to come in for a "credentialing interview" a couple weeks before my start date. Does anyone know what this entails?
UGoLong
I had one of those. In my case, it was a welcoming thing from the Chief of Medicine and a review of their rules, use of the lounge, where to park, etc. Nothing to worry about I should think.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Arthropathy
I had one it was silly. 5 minutes to review my application and answer questions I had already answered on my app regarding work/licensing/priveledges. Complete waste of everyone's time If you've made it far enough to the credentialing committee you have nothing to worry about, the rest is formalities.
SHU-CH
I had one years ago. I was ushered into a board room with a long oak table with one chair on my side and about 10 people seated on the other side. They asked fairly pointed questions about what I was qualified to do (I was only the second PA in the hospital). Most likely, it will be a tame affair, but be ready for anything.
mmiller3
As everyone else has stated, these interviews are pretty common. They are typically just a formality, but a good way to get to know some of the decision-makers at your facility as well. All of mine have lasted about 10 minutes on average, and none of the questions they asked were unusual.
