Employer Match + Bonus

Hey guys, I am looking at some budget information and just had a question that I couldn't find the answer to online.

 

Hypothetical job: $80k base salary + $20k bonus

 

Employer offers a 3% 401k match.  Does the 3% apply just to the base salary, or does it include the bonus as well.  In other words, would the employer match be $2400 or $3000?

probably just the base, but ask them yourself.

401k and 403b is federally mandated

 

I am not sure of the answer, but I suspect it is one the TOTAL pay that you get, their are very strict rules on this and in general they include all income...

I just got my first real quarterly bonus and my 401K contribution along with my employers were both definitely higher than normal. I don't know if this would be the case for everyone though.
