cross22 Posted June 28, 2016 Has anyone gotten into the PA program without direct patient experience? Is it possible to be admitted with 200 hours of shadowing/volunteer experience in various settings with a 3.8 GPA and a BS in Biochemistry?
DiggySRNA Posted June 28, 2016 Short answer...yes. Long answer. It will be an uphill battle. Your application will be compared to thousands of individuals with way more than 200 shadowing hours, in addition to paid direct patient care hours, volunteer, community service, and similar GPA. Why would adcoms choose someone without the total package?
Moderator LT_Oneal_PAC Posted June 28, 2016 Moderator Multiple people went to south college without HCE.
8404PA Posted July 11, 2016 My HCE was one of the major reasons I was accepted here, and perhaps my interview skills. That said, there are many who get accepted with little experience. This program is big on having a diverse class
