Is it okay to take science courses during the summer

Sure!  Just be aware that they're often more intensive, so need more study time--or rather, need the SAME amount of study time, compressed into fewer weeks.

I did Microbiology in the summer, along with working full time, and thankfully it was my only science course so I made it work and got a 4.0 in it.  Two such courses would NOT have been doable.

Gen Bio during the summer should be doable. Just keep up with the readings. Try to understand and memorize the basics from the beginning and you'll be golden.
