TWR
I work in a busy private family practice with a quest drawing lab on site. I wonder what the arrangement is between the lab and the practice. Do they pay rent? They are not paid by the pracitice. There are 2-3 phlebotomists there. We do a LOT of labs. Sometimes I think more than we have to?? Does anyone have an idea as to what the financial arrangement might be? We all know how expensive lab fees are. Dramatically higher than the cost to perform. Administrator rev ronin Posted August 13, 2015 Administrator Share Posted August 13, 2015 No clue. We have a phlebotomist working in our office 20 hours a week, affiliated with a regional lab. I've never had any pressure to order more or less labs, just whatever was needed. When the phlebotomist isn't present, our MAs draw blood, so it does make things go faster when the phlebotomist is there...
SocialMedicine
likely quest pays for the staff/equipment. My prior practice hired a phlebotomist but all the equipment (including computer and printer) was paid for by the respective lab company.
