mtm3518
Hello all I work in a medical office and I hate to admit it, but the physicians do not do a good job motivating their medical staff, such as the PA's. The mutual respect is there but I cant imagine how great this office would be if the physician will take time out of their day to motivate them. I am very close with the physicians and I want to give advice, as PA's what could be a positive motivation technique that a physician can give to their PA's? Would it be giving them more autonomous work, more incentives, having them give more praise, etc..? I unfortunately am not a PA and do not really understand their work atmosphere and the stress they are under. What do you expect the physician to do that would make you more motivated? Thank you all for your time and replies
marilynpac
I don't think it's a docs job to praise and motivate PAs. We don't need constant ego stroking in order for us to perform better at our work...excellent performance is expected. I don't need a physician to motivate me...we are self motivated...IMHO. andersenpa
In general employees want autonomy and value- to do good work and be acknowledged for it. If the practice has a system set up where these things are allowed to happen the PAs should be happy.
