  1. Thanks for this, this is super helpful! Unfortunately I don't have the experience to add anything. Interested in keeping up with this post.
  2. Now that I think about it our experience was probably really weird. On our floors the majority of the patients were military aged males w ortho issues. I haven't seen anything like it since. YES I remember doing our PT tests on the wrap around porch thing. And the Subway restaurant downstairs that was always crowded. Sad to think all that's closed down now. Saw up there that you were CA guard, my first reserve unit was out of Sacramento!
  3. Small world! I honestly can't remember but my brain wants to say ward 58?? Or something like it
  4. Some questions for anyone : If you were a new grad, how long between graduation and BOLC? What kind of unit did you end up in, and did you have a say in it? What was your day to day like at your unit? Thanks.
  5. Thank you @narcan, I have plenty of questions! Sending a PM.
  6. Prior Army enlisted, 91W then 68W. 6 yrs USAR. Graduating PA school 2018. cc56, I worked at the old Walter Reed for a while but mostly up in Med-Surg, in 2004-2005. We may have run into each other lol
  7. Haha you and me both! I'm not 100% sure yet but it's definitely on my radar. Are you a PA/student? I start PA school this fall so I have plenty of time to think about this...
  8. I recently contacted an Army medical recruiter about direct commissioning as a PA after (civilian) school. I thought I'd share what they told me for those who are curious : I'm interested in hearing from anyone that direct commissioned (active duty Army), or is in the process of. Thanks!
  9. That's awesome, congrats!!! So excited for you! I received a rejection email. Bummed, but it was a great experience and I'm grateful to have had the chance. Best of luck to everyone still waiting!
  10. Nothing here either... Hopefully we hear something real soon. Welcome to the club :) Best of luck to you!
  11. Yes it looks like it! Keeping my fingers crossed for us. Best of luck to everyone waiting!
  12. Csue, it was great to meet you! I was the shorty in the gray suit. :) I agree with the above, everyone at the interview was very welcoming. The actual one-on-one was not an interrogation at all, more like a conversation. The building is lovely and I got an overall positive feeling of the program; I would recommend anyone interested in PA school to check them out. Nervous to hear their decisions as well!
  13. @csuelter I'll be coming from the Fayetteville, NC area. It's about an hour and a half drive from Wingate. You? @pa_nc I believe they're not done sending out interview invites yet, hang in there I applied to the main campus, but Hendersonville looks like a beautiful area. Best of luck to you!
  14. csuelter, awesome! At least we have plenty of time to prepare haha
  15. I received an interview invite a few weeks ago for Nov 10. Is anyone else here attending on that date?
