browndog
Finished up prereqs in 2010. I put in my resignation last week. Start PA school in August! No more free car, gas, phone and easy paycheck, but I will be happy everyday I go home knowing that I am helping people versus just myself. I hear ya. Gave up all of that 5 years ago this fall. I really enjoy being a midlevel (NP) in emergency medicine. Although the money and perks were better in sales; I would not go back. I love the science, as well as the feeling of making a difference (some days anyway), that go with medicine. Also, when I leave work - I leave work. No slogging through endless emails, new product information, sales promotions, sales reports late at night. And no *****ing about the down months. Tough decision back then though. Looking back - great move.
Moderator True Anomaly Posted April 20, 2011 Moderator Share Posted April 20, 2011 How did you obtain your patient care hours with those careers? I told the PA programs that dogs and cats are just like people, just further down the evolutionary ladder. Some PA program bought that, and POOF here I am.
