skyblue3
For those that have interviewed, been accepted, and/or completed PA school, if the adcom asks "why do you want to be a PA?" Do you think it would be appropriate to list, having a great work-life balance, as compared to an MD, as one of the reasons?
UGoLong
If that is one of your reasons, then so be it. Be yourself. The more important question to me is not why don't you want to be an MD, but why do you really want to be a PA? That is the question they want to know your answer (as opposed to mine or anyone else's). It better not be "Well, I'd like to be a physician but this looks easier." The interview is a chance for them to see who you are. Don't be too rehearsed in socially-acceptable answers. Do understand who you are and why you want to do this. Good luck. Moderator EMEDPA Posted October 24, 2013 Moderator Share Posted October 24, 2013 just be aware that MANY PAs work MORE than the docs they work for..... or you could use the old standby: "why do you want to be a PA?" "money for nothing and the chicks for free".
TrevInTampa813
One of my major focal points was the flexibility as far as changing fields should I decide to later on. Doctors are a little more pigeon holed in that respect, if I'm not mistaken.
