T3hshultzie
So I have my interview next week at UC Davis, and I notice many people talking about supplemental applications. There is no link to a supplemental application on their site, nor did I receive any notice of it on my confirmation e-mail. Does anyone know about this? Is this something that is dont AT the interview rather than before?
chrisj7
They called my cell phone listed on my CASPA application.

chrisj7
ray071, The interview was quite amazing. For the integrity of the process and in order to keep all things level I can't tell you specifics about the interview. I searched this forum for past posts (Interviews 2011) and found that they were doing an MMI format and I can confirm that. Good luck!
chrisj7
T3h, the secondary is a grad school app and is more of a supplemental app. It will only be required if you are offered a spot in the program.
T3hshultzie
Well then...lets hope I get to fill one out then ;)
FierceDeityMomo
I too am interviewing tomorrow morning and am ridiculously nervous! I am local to the area, only about 10 minutes away from the campus and did my undergrad at CSU-Sacramento. I also was an Army medic for 8 years so I have a lot of clinical experience and have been volunteering with UCD for almost 2 years. I really hope this interview goes well!! Good luck to everybody! ray071
chrisj, Happy for you the interview went well. And thank you for getting back to me, appreciate it! R
FierceDeityMomo
Good luck to everybody else that is interviewing! The interview today went really well, I think, and there were a lot of great applicants. They are interviewing around 100 candidates for roughly 35 spots. Now we play the waiting game for that letter that can change our lives forever!
chrisj7
Good luck to you too SacPrePA. Yes, the numbers are very daunting. With around 1300 applicants it is a privilege just to interview. Waiting...
T3hshultzie
The numbers don't really make any sense to me to be honest given how trends were going. Prior years they had thousands of applicants and took roughly 60. Anybody know what changed?
FierceDeityMomo
If you look at the last few years, the applicant numbers have always been under 1500 with 2008 being well under 500. This year the class is small, only 32 students, so maybe they just like smaller, more personal settings. All I know is with only 30-40 slots this year, I am keeping my fingers crossed that I get in! :)
chrisj7
T3h, I think the reduction in available spots this year is due to the transition into a Master's degree program.
T3hshultzie
That definitely makes sense. Smaller class sizes always are a benefit to the student as well. Needless to say good luck to everyone. You're right that we should be incredibly happy that we are just being interviewed! :)
FierceDeityMomo
As of today they are halfway done with interviews. I am ready to hear back. Is the waiting killing anybody else?
MikeL
The numbers don't really make any sense to me to be honest given how trends were going. Prior years they had thousands of applicants and took roughly 60. Anybody know what changed? I think I can try and answer this for you guys. My current class (2014) is the "transition" class and the incoming 2015 class should not be affected much, if at all. The reason for the reduction in class size is to help decrease attrition rate. Smaller class size allows for closer connection with classmates, faculty, and facilitates small group and case-based learning. I hope that helped a bit! Good luck to you all! FierceDeityMomo
Mike, thanks for the clarification, and I'm sure I speak for everybody when I say that I hope the program is going well for you. Hopefully, some of us will be your classmates next year...as soon as we find out!
