WA Gov Signs Out-of-State State PA Rx Bill

Recommended Posts

Good job WA/OR PAs! We have a lot of snow bird pts up here and some pts moving back to WA and have run into this problem in the past. I'm glad the law has changed.

On April 17, Washington Gov. Jay Inslee signed Senate Bill 5524 into law. The bill authorizes Washington pharmacies to fill prescriptions written by physician assistants in other states. This is especially significant for PAs in states like Oregon that border Washington. SB 5524 was the result of a collaborative effort between the Washington Academy of Physician Assistants (WAPA) and the Oregon Society of Physician Assistants (OSPA).
