sportygirl07
Hey guys! So I have been stuck on these majors: Biology Biology & Society Conservation Biology & Ecology Global Health --requires a semester of study abroad Psychology With Global Health & Psychology, would it be hard to take the prerequisites and the required classes for the major? What do you think PA schools think about non-Biology majors? I was also thinking of maybe just majoring in Biology with a minor in Global Health?? Is that a good idea? Which majors do you think would be best? And is it hard to have a minor when you have to work part time to meet all the required hours for PA school? Advice is greatly appreciated!(: Thanks so much guys!
Timon
Any degree will work (even non-science related). All you need is a bachelors degree, prerequisites, healthcare experience with direct patient contact, PA shadowing, and community service.
GREEN
Not this again. Some programs REQUIRE a health related degree to even apply. If you decide on a "non-science related" degree, you will automatically be decreasing your chances before you even apply, something to keep in mind. PM2016
I don't agree with having to have a science major. My major was family youth and community sciences. I took all pre Reqs and went above that by taking more science courses. My major will set me apart from the hundreds of typical biology majors
sportygirl07
Is global health or Psychology considered a health related degree to PA programs? Thanks guys!
Moderator EMEDPA Posted March 25, 2013 Moderator Share Posted March 25, 2013 most programs don't care as long as you do well in the prereqs. I did anthropology. from your list I like global health (see my signature).
