Was just curious, could you ask the same people that wrote your rec letters to write you another one when you reapply? Or would it be better to ask different people for references?

I think it would be OK as long as you know the kind of letter they are writing. If they don't know you that well and there is even a miniscule chance that their letter is what kept you from school, then by all means get a new reference.

That being said, be sure that they know what you are working towards, why you want to be a PA, why you should be a PA, and what you are doing in this extra year to prepare for PA school and to prepare for applications.
