ProspectivePA
Hello, I'd like any input regarding an EM offer in Manhattan, NY. -$142,500 per year -Required to work 1,561 hrs per year, or avg 130 hrs per month or 30 hrs per week -NO PTO -$1,800 annual CME, plus DEA and NYS license -Rotating shifts, required 2-3 nights per month and 2 holidays per year -Avg $1,000-$3,000 bonus per year depending on department financials -Benefits: medical, dental, vision, 401K
ohiovolffemtp
With the caveat that I don't practice in NY, which I would think is a very high COL area: that computes to just over $91/hour - which sounds good. lack of PTO pretty typical for EM, you're expected to work the schedule to make time for vacations, etc. CME a little low, but the fact that they pay for license & DEA is good. requirements for nights & holidays actually pretty light. Benefits: you'll need to evaluate how much you'll have to pay, quality of coverage, employer 401K contribution: standard is a 50% match up to an employer contribution of 3%. Bonus is meh.
Boatswain2PA
Big question is what will you be paid if you work overtime. Is this an straight $91/hr, or is this salary with expectation of those hours. And any match on the 401K? Can you live on $145K in Manhattan?

Pretty sure most people working in Manhattan live in the surrounding areas, not directly in Manhattan.
