frenchbulldog
Hi, I am currently going through the interview process for PA school. I was wondering if anyone knows of shadowing opportunities for surgery/surgical subspecialties in NYC. I really enjoyed shadowing in the OR during my internship and I would be very interested to dive deeper into this. Thank you so much in advance! johnguillen68
I want to ask a question because I'm curious, Why do schools accept shadowing hours over experience? I mean, while you're shadowing you're observing and with experience, you have hands-on experience. So 300 hours of shadowing is superior to 17 years of medical hands-on experience? frenchbulldog
PCE hands on experience is definitely more important, shadowing is still a requirement for PA school but you need less hours. Approximately 50-100 shadowing hours is good for most schools.
