Membership primary care

I find this very interesting. I can see how it can be useful for those who can afford it; at the same time it also sounds like a nightmare giving out patients your cell number (although that's probably not the norm). A lot of psychiatry practices are fee for service and it works well; I am not sure why PCPs have to come up with these elaborate membership models. I blame insurance companies for driving clinicians into this predicament
